Chelsea first choice goalkeeper Edouard Mendy has since left the club for a time out with his country at the African Cup of Nations.
Second choice goalie Kepa Arrizabalaga is expected to stand in for Mendy during the month-long competition.
Some have raised doubts whether Kepa will be able to step up in the absence of the Senegal international, and Blues third choice goalkeeper Marcus Bettinelli absolutely believes that the Spaniard will as well do a good job.
Bettinelli told The Athletic: “I personally don’t see anything to worry about [despite Mendy’s absence]. Edou is always going to be missed because he is a fantastic keeper.
“But for anyone to suggest Kepa isn’t an adequate replacement is ridiculous. He is one of the best in the world.”
