Chelsea have been heavily linked with a move for Sergino Dest after losing both first-choice full-backs to injury this season.

Ben Chilwell has been ruled out for the rest of the season following a ruptured cruciate ligament, while Reece James is expected to be out for around two months with a torn hamstring.

Chelsea have been linked with some names in the transfer market, and Barcelona’s Dest happens to be one of them.

The 21-year-old has struggled for game time since his €21million (£17.5m) move from Ajax to the Barcelona back in 2020, and many clubs are watching his situation with the Spanish giants.

Dest has started just 11 of Barca’s opening 20 games in the La Liga this season and growing reports have it that Barca would be open to selling the United States international.

However, Dest still has three-and-a-half years remaining on his current contract and has a buyout clause of £333.5m, and Michael Reschke, Head of European Football at ICM Stellar Sports who represent Dest, has said that it’s unlikely Dest will be leaving Barcelona at this point in time.

“Sergino feels good in Barcelona,” Michael Reschke told Ran.

“It’s a great club. That’s why it’s actually rather unlikely at the moment.”
