Chelsea record signing Romelu Lukaku was dropped for the Premier League fixture against Liverpool on Sunday, and it was a very thrilling game that saw Chelsea come from behind to play a 2-2 draw with the Reds.
Many wondered what would have gone through Lukaku’s mind watching the game on Sunday, and United legend Gary Neville believes that the Belgian would have been kicking himself to get on that pitch.
Lukaku has confirmed he watched the game on Sunday, and was pleased with his side’s display. He also sent a message to his teammates that it’s time to start turning draws into victories, starting with the League Cup semifinal clash against Tottenham.
“Now we have a very important game against Spurs where we will have to make sure that we set the tone from the first minute,” Lukaku told Chelsea’s official website.
“Looking back at the game against Liverpool, we showed people that we can compete, we were unlucky not to get the win.
“But if we set the same tone and keep the momentum going and turn those draws into wins I think it can be a very exciting season for us.”
