According to Caughtoffside, Premier League side Newcastle United have submitted a £40million bid for Chelsea striker Armando Broja.
Broja is currently on loan at Premier League side Southampton and his impressive performances at Southampton have caught the attention of Newcastle United.
Despite only turning 20 in September, the Albania international already looks like the complete, modern-day centre-forward.
He has searing pace, he can carry the ball rapidly over long distances, turning defence into attack in the blink of an eye. And, above all, he is a ruthless, emphatic finisher.
However, Chelsea are said to be reluctant to allow the player to leave on a permanent deal this month, instead wanting to reassess the situation in the summer following the conclusion of his current loan deal.
It remains to be seen whether Broja will be part of the Chelsea squad under Thomas Tuchel next season, with the Blues having Romelu Lukaku and Timo Werner in the squad.
Broja has scored five Premier League goals this season from an Expected Goals value of just 4.0, showcasing his quality in front of goal when given the opportunity.
“Armando Broja is obviously a handful,” former Southampton strikrr Peter Crouch told The Mail after Saturday’s 1-1 draw with Manchester City.
“A brutish striker who can make defenders think.”
