Only one Chelsea player makes Alan Shearer’s Premier League team of the season so far

Premier League legend Alan Shearer has come up with his Premier League team of the season so far, and only Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger made the cut from the Chelsea team.

One player from Arsenal, West Ham and Crystal Palace made the cut, three from Liverpool and four from leaders Manchester City.

Shearer’s Team of the Season so far: Aaron Ramsdale (Arsenal); Trent Alexander-Arnold (Liverpool), Ruben Dias (Man City), Antonio Rudiger (Chelsea), Joao Cancelo (Man City); Conor Gallagher (Crystal Palace), Declan Rice (West Ham), Bernardo Silva (Man City); Mohamed Salah (Liverpool), Diogo Jota (Liverpool), Phil Foden (Man City).

Rudiger is in the final year of his contract with Chelsea, and no agreement is believed to have been reached.

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has said the German doesn’t need any form of pampering to sign a new contract.

Tuchel said: “He’s a guy who needs to trust you. He needs to feel the connection. He wants to feel it by minutes and by actions.

“I don’t feel Tony needs a lot of words and a lot of pampering and coffee talks and invitations to dinners or whatever.

“He is a top professional. Nothing has changed. We are in talks. It’s in good hands because I trust the club and I have trust in my player.

“It’s a no problem situation for me.”
