According to reports, Chelsea are in ‘active contact’ with representatives of Bayern Munich defender Niklas Sule over a potential free transfer move.

German outlet Sport 1, had claimed that Chelsea have been monitoring the situation of the 26-year-old, whose contract with the Bundesliga champions expires at the end of the season.

According to Sport 1, Sule has made up his mind about leaving Bayern at the end of the season, even though that Bayern had planned to reopen the contract negotiation in February.

Chelsea are believed to be very interested in this deal, especially with the uncertainty surrounding Andreas Christensen, who’s yet to commit his future to the club.

Chelsea, Barcelona, and Newcastle United are the three clubs to have been strongly linked with the soon-to-be free agent, and it seems Chelsea may just edge this deal.

Chelsea and Barcelona, in particular, have reportedly been in contact with Sule’s representatives, and Sule doesn’t seem too interested in a move to Newcastle, as he still wants to play at the top level.
