According to reports in Spain, Real Madrid have accepted a bid from Newcastle United for former Chelsea star Eden Hazard.
El Nacional had claimed that Real Madrid had accepted a staggering offer of €40m (£33.4m), plus €10m (£8.3m) in add-ons, from Newcastle with Eddie Howe desperate to strengthen his beleaguered squad in a bid to escape relegation this season.
However, the report also claimed that Newcastle still had some work to do to convince Hazard into the switch.
Meanwhile, reports from Spain claim Hazard has snubbed the Magpies’ approach, insisting he will only leave for a ‘big’ club, such as Chelsea.
The Belgian has fallen down the pecking order in the Los Blancos attack, with Vinicius Jr and Rodrygo preferred by Carlo Ancelotti.
Hazard has been heavily linked with a return to the club, after a seven-year spell in his first stint where he scored 110 goals and provided 92 assists in 352 appearances for the club.
