Reports had claimed at some point that the representatives of Chelsea defender Antonio Rudiger had stopped negotiations with the club, as both parties seemed afar off in reaching an agreement over Rudiger’s wages.

However, recent reports had claimed that talks had restarted between the player and the club, and according to Matt Law, Rudiger is now ready to listen to Chelsea’s offer.

Rudiger has remained calm all through the process, and never ruled out the possibility of staying at the club.

Real Madrid, PSG and Bayern Munich were touted as possible destinations for Rudiger, but it now appears that the German may be staying put after all.

Romelu Lukaku’s wages of £325K per week seemed to have triggered the pay hike Lukaku is requesting, but Chelsea had played hard ball so other players won’t make similar wage demands.

Rudiger’s consistent performances have ensured that Chelsea will come to the negotiation table with a better offer, and the reps of the German are also willing to tone down their demands, reports claim.

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
