Romano reveals Tuchel’s plans to get a new left back

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel has admitted that the club will try to bring in a left back this January, as number one choice Ben Chilwell is injured and has been ruled out for the rest of the season.

Chelsea loanee Emerson Palmieri has been linked with a return to the club, and the club has also made a move for Everton’s Lucas Digne.

However, reputable reporter Fabrizio Romano has now revealed that the Lucas Digne move may be unsuccessful and the Blues are working hard to get back loanee Emerson.

“Chelsea are still trying to recall Emerson Palmieri as left back, Tuchel wants him,” he tweeted.

“OL turned down first approach but Chelsea are pushing again – prepared to offer compensation.

“Lucas Digne deal now looking very unlikely. Nothing advanced. Everton ask for permanent move.”
