Chesterfield’s Akwasi Asante has revealed swapping shirts with Chelsea star Hakim Ziyech was a special moment for him.
Asante scored a consolation goal for the visitors in their 5-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in an FA Cup third round tie and he claims he will cherish it for the rest of his life.
“It’s nice to be able to say you’ve scored at Stamford Bridge. Not many people come here and score so it’s something obviously I’ll cherish for the rest of my life,” said the striker.
“I’ll be able to tell my kids and grandkids I scored at Stamford Bridge.
“Swapping shirts with Hakim Ziyech as well, that’s a special moment for me. I said I wanted his shirt before the game.
“I spoke to him briefly during the game. It’s just an unbelievable experience.”
Meanwhile, Chelsea youngster Lewis Hall made his debut in Chelsea’s 5-1 FA Cup victory over Chesterfield on Saturday.
Speaking about Hall’s performance, Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel said: “It was his performance in general, his attitude in training and the quality he showed. He was very calm, very good in training in our possession games and small-sided games.
“He deserved to start. We needed a pause for Toni and Azpi and Marcos in defence. We had three defenders left and he was one of them.”
