With Premier League action set to resume this weekend, we’d take our attention off the Champions League and return to the upcoming games in the league.
Although Chelsea won’t be playing league football this weekend, due to our FA Cup semi-final clash with Crystal Palace, the Blues would have an eye on proceedings in the league, as we seek to maintain a grip on 3rd spot.
Antonio Conte has guided Tottenham to fourth place in the league, as the Italian has managed to turn things around in the North London club.
Spurs are five points behind Chelsea, and could reduce the gap to just two if they win this weekend, with Chelsea not having a league game until next week.
Conte has however revealed that he’s not thinking of Chelsea’s 3rd spot, but is hoping to maintain at least fourth place in the league, and is wary of those behind Spurs.
Addressing the press on Thursday, the former Chelsea boss was asked if Spurs could push Chelsea.
He responded: “I think first of all we have to think to ourselves and to look to ourselves and not the other opponents.
“Arsenal have one more game in their hand than us.
“But it is not just Arsenal in this race, there is Arsenal, Manchester United, West Ham, Wolves.
“I think in this race you can finish first – in this race – if you don’t make a lot of mistakes.”
