Real Madrid never believed the display from Chelsea at the Santiago Bernabeu, as the Blues had gone 3-0 ahead in the game.

Unfortunately, Chelsea lost the tie in extra time, but it was a brilliant performance from Thomas Tuchel’s side away at Madrid.

According to reports, Chelsea defender Reece James impressed Real Madrid scouts massively at the Bernabeu.

Bernabeu Digital claims that James passed his examination on Tuesday with ‘flying colours’, as Madrid scouts were impressed by the defender’s display.

James was given the task of keeping Vinicius quiet, and the Chelsea right-back ensured he won his duels against the tricky Brazilian.

Reece James got a yellow card ten minutes into the match for a foul on Vinicius, and many would have feared that the 22-year-old was going to have a long night.

Rather, James put in a top showing as he recorded a game-high eight tackles and committed just two fouls.
