Chelsea will be in the market this summer for at least two centre-backs, but some of the club’s young centre-backs are also attracting interest from some clubs in the Premier League and Europe.
24-year-old Jake Clarke-Salter has had an impressive season on loan at Championship side Coventry City, and his performances didn’t go unnoticed.
The likes of Leeds United and PSV are the two major sides interested in the Chelsea academy product.
Interestingly, any of these clubs could sign up Clarke-Salter for free this summer.
Clarke-Salter is out of contract at Stamford Bridge this summer but Chelsea do have the option to extend his deal for another 12 months.
Clarke-Salter who was highly rated while coming through the ranks at Chelsea, is believed to be interested in a deal away from Stamford Bridge, having been at the club since age 8.
It’s yet to be seen if Chelsea can trigger the clause on Jake Clarke-Salter’s deal, due to the sanctions.
If the 24-year-old becomes available on a free transfer, he’d definitely attract the interest of many club sides in Europe.
