Alan Shearer reveals the big mistake Tuchel made against Liverpool

England legend Alan Shearer has slammed Thomas Tuchel for his line-up in the FA Cup final against Liverpool.

The Chelsea manager started with a front three of Romelu Lukaku, Christian Pulisic and Mason Mount. In the second-half, he brought in Hakim Ziyech for Romelu Lukaku.

There was no place for Timo Werner all through the game, and Shearer believes Werner’s pace could have troubled Liverpool’s backline.

He told the BBC: “No surprises to me in the Liverool team that’s pretty much as expected.

“With Chelsea Havertz is injured. But I’m surprised Werner’s not playing, because of his pace, because of the high line we know Liverpool play.

“I know he gets offside a lot but it would have been a huge threat for him to be running behind.”
