Chelsea finished the 2021-22 season with 74 points, 19 behind Manchester City and 18 behind Liverpool.
It was a season full of ups and downs for Chelsea, but the Blues did well to cap it off with a 2-1 win over Watford.
Mason Mount was named Player of the Season for Chelsea, and the award was presented to him right after the 2-1 win over Watford, with captain Cesar Azpilicueta giving the award.
In the course of the season, Mount became the youngest Chelsea player to have registered 11 goals and 10 assists in a Premier League campaign.
Mount surely deserves the award, and Thiago Silva was a close runner-up in the supporters’ vote which is also deserved.
Mount is now the first Chelsea player since Eden Hazard to win the Chelsea Player of the Season back to back.
