Barcelona have signed Chelsea centre-back Andreas Christensen on a free transfer, but the Catalan club aren’t done with signing some of Chelsea’s players.

The Spanish side have been linked with a move for Cesar Azpilicueta and also left-back Marcos Alonso.

Reputable reporter Fabrizio Romano has confirmed that discussions between Alonso and Barça have reached an advanced stage, with the Spaniard keen on the transfer.

Romano posted: “Discussions between Barcelona and Marcos Alonso are well advanced. He only wants to go back to Spain as soon as possible.

“Alonso deal will depend on price tag, still waiting for Chelsea decision. Barça have no intention to pay a huge fee as he’s out of contract in 2023.”

Alonso who has spent 6 years as a Chelsea player, claimed last month that Chelsea have become the club of his life.

“I have come a long way since then,” he said.

“After a lot of challenges, you grow as a person and a player. It’s the experience that can help you the most. All the good things, all the bad things… it’s what makes you improve and what makes you better.

“I think I’m a much more mature person now with a big career behind me, and hopefully more to come.

“Chelsea is my home now. It has become the club of my life. I will always have those memories, and I will always have Chelsea in my mind.”
