Chelsea ended the season with a 2-1 win over Watford at Stamford Bridge.
The Blues had gone ahead in the first half through Kai Havertz, but Dan Gosling equalised for the relegated visitors in the 87th minute.
Second half substitute Ross Barkley scored in stoppage time to restore Chelsea’s lead.
Speaking after the game, Mason Mount admitted he was happy for Barkley and also Ben Chilwell who came on as a late substitute, having been out since November.
He said: “We are buzzing for Ross (Barkley) to have come on and score and for Chilly (Ben Chilwell) to come on right at the end, and there was a big farewell for Rudi.
“It feels like the season has gone on for ages but now it has come to an end we look forward to next season.
“I definitely think that there are exciting times ahead. We don’t know too much what is going on behind the scenes but we are excited as players, we are absolutely buzzing for the next season. Hopefully we can keep progressing as a club.”
