Tuchel: This is why I love this team

Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel had urged his players to give a response in the game against Leeds United.

Chelsea had won just one in their last five, and another drop in points was unacceptable, especially after the 2-2 draw against Wolves.

Tuchel had cancelled Sunday as a free day in order to get a response from his players against Leeds United.

After a 3-0 win against Leeds, the Chelsea manager surely got the response he was looking for.

“If you want to be loved on a daily basis you should not become a high level football coach. It will not happen,” Tuchel had said.

“At this moment I’m probably not popular. Most of them expected a 30 minute team talk and then to watch the game again. Once they understood why they were in and the weather was fine most of them accepted it.

“I need a free day – because I also cancelled my free Sunday! I also had some plans on Sunday morning and they were cancelled. But this happens.

“There was even an Under-23s game at 1 p.m., and two thirds of the team stayed and watched it. Nobody was getting in their car and getting away. They take their responsibility, and that is what I love about the team.”

Chelsea is more than just a football club to me; it's a passion I share, and my affinity with the Chelsea badge is one that will last forever. As far as watching my favourite team is concerned, I'd rather miss a meal than miss a Chelsea game.
