Chelsea have been strongly linked with a move for Manchester City winger Raheem Sterling.

According to Fabrizio Romano, Chelsea’s interest in Manchester City star Raheem Sterling is ‘genuine’ as the Blues look to bolster their attacking options.

Raheem Sterling’s deal expires in a year’s time, and Chelsea may most likely be his next destination, with Manchester City also willing to cash in on the 27-year-old England international.

The Raheem Sterling to Chelsea deal is one of the most talked about Chelsea transfer news at the moment.

However, former Man City winger Trevor Sinclair has advised Sterling to shun a move to Stamford Bridge.

According to Sinclair, Chelsea won’t be competitive to trump Manchester City and Liverpool in the race for the Premier League title next season.

Speaking to talkSPORT, Sinclair claimed that he doesn’t believe Chelsea will be as competitive as Pep Guardiola’s side, as the Blues have a rebuilding job to do.

When asked if he thought it’d be a good move for Sterling, Sinclair said: “I would say no because I don’t think Chelsea will be competitive with Man City and Liverpool next season.

“They’ve lost players, the club is in a transitional phase where they’ve lost a lot of players and they’ve got to do a lot of rebuilding.”

Sinclair continued: “They’ve got a new man at the helm [Boehly] to do that. I think there’s a hell of a lot of work for Chelsea to do this summer.

“Listen, Raheem is a quality player and a quality operator and Chelsea could compete next season, but the new owner has a big job on his hands.”

premier league is the only tournament Man city are proud of. How many times has Chelsea won that trophy? It’s also the right time for sterling to win Champions league which Man city has failed to achieve
